William Gene Miller

William Gene Miller, 80, of Sophia passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020.
Born January 22, 1940 in Brenton, WV, he was the son of the late Christopher Columbus and Fredia Mae Cook Miller.
William was a communications technician for the U.S. Air Force, Philco Corp and also served as a communication tech in the Bunker at the Greenbrier. He was a supporter of the VFW and formerly attended the Sophia Church of God. He loved hunting, fishing and electronics.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Miller and sister, Pat.
William is survived by sons, William E. Miller of Ravenswood, WV and Christopher Miller and wife Deadra of Palmyra, VA; grandchildren, Lyla Jade Miller, Kaitlyn Marlene Miller, Monica Leann Miller, Tyler M. Selzer and Tristan Lee Miller; sister, Judy Falconnio (Jim) of Sandy Ridge, NC, Lavonne Davenport (William) of Eden, NC.
A celebration of William’s life will be 2 pm Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vondie Cook, Sr. officiating.
