Mrs. Vivian Trail Mills, age 90, of Sandersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, July 27th at 1:00 p.m., at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, West Virginia. Mrs. Mill's family will greet friends from 12 noon until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m also at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mills was born and reared in West Virginia and graduated from Mark Twain High School. She began a family early in life living in Cooleemee, North Carolina where she volunteered as a girl scout leader. While living in Cooleemee, Vivian worked at the local cotton mill, fabric store and grocery. In 1973, she along with her late husband David, moved to Georgia where they briefly lived in Monticello, prior to relocating to Blackshear, where she worked as a sales associate for J.C. Penny and was a member of South Gate Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. In 2020, she and David moved to Washington County, Georgia to be near family. Vivian was a wonderful homemaker who loved to sew. Her greatest joy was being with family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Mills’ husband, David Lee Mills and siblings, Jean Bennett, Tom Trail, Patti Atkins, Frances Bondurant and Remona Cook all predecease her.
Survivors include her children, Linda Keller and her husband Flint of Deepstep, Georgia and Greg Mills and his wife Ann of Mountain Home, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jason Mills and his wife Tracy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Betsy Bushman and her husband Ron of Salt Lake City, Utah, David Mock and his wife Candice of Newborn, Georgia, and Richard Mock and his wife Amy of Monticello, Georgia; great grandchildren, Grace Mills, Emma Mills, Kelsey Cheek, Jackson Cheek, Shay Mock, Vivian Mock, Emily Mock, Brittani Bushman, Braden Bushman and his wife Crystal and Bella Hardin; great-great grandchildren Rowan Pete, Ashton Cheek and Ethan Bushman; and siblings Jack Trail, John Trail and Linda Bowles.
