Thomas Eugene Hurley

Thomas E. Hurley, of Beckley, WV, 90 years of age, passed away following a short illness on Sunday, February 26, 2023 while under the care of Hospice of Southern West Virginia.

Tom was born January 31, 1933, in Hinton, WV, to the late Joseph Leo Hurley, Sr. and Mary Katherine Gwinn Hurley.  He was also predeceased by brother, Joseph Leo Hurley, Jr. and mother and father-in-law, Virginia and Otis Thompson.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rebecca Thompson Hurley; daughters Tara Hurley Reed and husband David Reed of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Tanya Hurley Vickers and husband Lee Vickers of Stuart, FL; grandchildren, Brianna Sidney Tabor, Tanner Romie Vickers and Avery Rebecca Vickers all of FL.

Tom retired from WV Rehabilitation Services and Montgomery Ward. He was previously employed by the C&O Railroad and was a U.S. Army veteran. Tom was a graduate of Hinton High School, Class of 1950, Morris Harvey College, and Marshall University. He attended St. Francis de Sales Church.

A funeral liturgy will 12 noon on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Leonard Smith officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until time of service at the church. A rite of committal will follow at High lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV.
