Thelma Mae Bolen

Thelma Mae Bolen known and loved by so many as Maw Maw or Mae passed away on August 27th 2026 at Raleigh General Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Born on December 10, 1943 in Meadow Bridge W Va. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Forren and was raised by the late Sally Knapp Forren. She was raised with her late sisters Maxine Shearing, Othella Lilly and Janet Ayers always by her side.

She was married to the love of life to the late James W Bolen for 58 years. She left behind 4 children Tina Marshall (Darren) of NC, Cindy Phillips of Coal City, Jimmy Lilly of Va and Danny Lilly (Penny) of Va.

Her grandbabies Alexis, Chris, Jake,Matthew, Timmy, Tylor, Jeremy, Travis, Allie, Summer, Novalee and more adored her as much as she did them.

Great grandbabies Kannin Mae , Kennedy ,Kentland, Matthew and Mason and more were her pride and joy.

Mae loved to play Bingo, Cook and gamble a little. Her laughter, smile , sweetness and good food will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be August 31 at 4:00 followed by a service at 5:00 at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley WV
