Terry Shawn Gunther, 43, of Crab Orchard, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Born November 9, 1971 in Beckley, he was the son of Linda Sue Akers Moore of Beckley and Terry Wayne Gunther of Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Brown and aunt, Donna Akers.
Shawn was the owner of Gunther’s Lawn, Snow and Ice Management. He was a member of Cross Point Church of God. He had a great love of music and cars and was a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Lakers fan.
Shawn is survived by his wife, Kathy Jean Hardbarger Gunther; daughter, Terryn Franceska Gunther; mother, Linda Sue Akers Moore and her husband Leo of Beckley; father, Terry Wayne Gunther and his wife Sabrina of Nashville, TN; brother, Chris Gunther of Beckley; sisters, Tara Harper and husband Scott of Shady Spring, Elaine Myers and husband Dave and Latricia Gunther of Nashville, TN; grandmother, Mary Akers of Beckley; aunt, Patricia Burnett and husband Wally of Wyoming; in-laws Dewaun and Frances Gilkerson as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Cross Point Church of God with Pastor Vondie L. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. A private family visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mary Babb Randolph CancerCenter, 1 Medical Center Dr, Morgantown, WV 26506.
