Tamra Dawson, 63, of Lester, West Virginia, formerly of Clay, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Born on January 26, 1962, Tamra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose love for her family was evident in everything she did. She will be remembered for her kind heart, caring spirit, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.

Tamra was preceded in death by her father, Paul Smarr; her sister, Christy Smarr; and her beloved son, Dakota Jones.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Glen Dawson; her mother, Janet Smarr; her mother-in-law, Janice McGrady; her sons, Bryan Jones and Brandon Jones; her stepdaughter, Jesse (James) Thomas; her stepson, Jason (Charli) Dawson; her brother, Dean (Vickie) Smarr; her sisters, Sandie (Rick) Conrad and Donna (Kenneth) Morton; her cherished granddaughters, Coralee, Karalynn, and Adalynn; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Tamra dedicated many years of service to the Raleigh County School System, where she worked as a school cook. She took pride in caring for others, and her warmth and compassion were felt by the many students, coworkers, and friends whose lives she touched.

In accordance with Tamra's wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. The family will announce plans for a celebration of her life at a later date.

Though she will be deeply missed, Tamra's love, kindness, and the memories she created with those she loved will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
