Stephen Walter Viars

Stephen Walter Viars went home to be with Jesus on Monday, July 18, 2022.  He was born on April 29. 1983 to the late Charles “Chuck” Stephen Viars and Pansy May Long in Beckley, WV. Stephen graduated from Independence High School. Stephen’s children Abbie, Kaylee, Andrew, and Maggie were the light of his life. His smile was ear to ear and beaming with delight as he would talk about them. He was so proud of his beautiful children and their accomplishments. Stevie’s personality was larger than life. He loved his people with all of his heart and was always willing to help out in any way he could. He never met a stranger and talked a mile a minute wether he knew you or not. Stevie loved spending time with his children and granddaughters, working out with his brothers at Crossfit Coal, being outdoors, listening to music, and was always excited to learn something new. His family and friends take comfort in knowing he’s in Heaven, walking barefoot, drinking a milkshake. He is free.

He is preceded in death by his father Charles “Chuck” Stephen Viars, mother Pansy May Long, sister Liana Jane Viars, sister Gina Ross, Grandmother MaryAnn Viars, Grandfathers Carl Van Viars and Roby Long, Uncle Lawrence Van Viars, and cousin Shannon Viars.

His memory is cherished by his children Abbie Alexis Viars, Kaylee Grace Viars, Andrew Clayton Viars, and Maggie Nicole Viars of Cross, SC. Granddaughters Nova Grace Parish, and Violet Marie Parish of Cross, SC. Mother of children Sandra Cox Viars. Brother “Bubby” Kyle Viars and sis Amber Viars, Nephews KJ Viars, Karson Viars, and Kase Viars. Niece Avery Viars  Uncles Darin Viars and Ronnie Long, Aunts Jane Hicks and Christy Spencley. Cousins Darin Viars, Rayana Ayres, Angela Yarber, Shasta Lowther, Tara Bergeron, Natalie Hicks, Daniel Hicks, and Marcus Ross. Kathy and Mike Cox, stepmother Patsy Viars. The Green Family, Williams Family, Minter Family, Pease Family, His entire COAL family, and Safehouse family.

Family will receive visitation on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Faith Community Church from 12-1. Funeral service will be at 1:00 directly following visitation, officiated by Pastor Jason Lowe.
