Shonda Hale

September 19, 1975 — September 20, 2024

Shonda Lynn Hale, (Sissy) age 49, of Lorain, Ohio passed away on September 20, 2024 in Coal City, West Virginia. She was born on September 19, 1975 to the late Gilbert Hale and Sandra Hale.

When the good Lord made Shonda, he broke the mold. A perfect example of a strong “Hale woman”, she was never one to be told what her limits were, or how much she was capable of. Her actions were a reminder of that every day. She would drop everything to help or defend the people she loved, and she loved and protected fiercely. Her tough exterior could not mask an absolute heart of gold, which will be so sorely missed. Shonda enjoyed spending time in nature, riding her 4 wheeler, fishing, constructing, and cooking the best empanadas for her family. She had an amazing talent of bringing people together with her vivacious personality, her love of singing, dancing, and of course, her amazing cooking. She was such a special person to those she loved, and those who loved her, creating unique and fond memories with each, to be treasured forever. Shonda will be grievously missed by all.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Antonio Hale, Tatianna Hale, and Avianna Hale; Grandchildren, Ayce Deel and Amira Deel; Siblings, Shannon Hale (Becky), Rhonda Julian (Eric); Nieces & Nephews, Brandon Owens (Candice), Gibby Hale, Jacob Hale, Abigail Hale, Rachel Hale, Alyssa Vires(Anthony), Mariah Julian, Eva Julian and Halle Julian, along with many Uncles, Aunts and Cousins who loved her very much.

Shonda was preceded in death by: Father Gib Hale, Mother Sandy Hale, Brother Gibby Hale, Nephew Timothy Debronsky Jr. and Grandparents Marine Hale, Joe Hale, Ed Delk, and Wilma Delk.

Shonda’s family and closest friends will gather for a private Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 19, 2024 to share our favorite memories in honor of the wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin, and friend she was to us all.

“Her voice was her gift from God, and her song will be missed, but let our hearts be filled knowing Shonda sings with the angels today” - Shannon Hale
