Shirley Mae Tabor

Batesville, MS

Shirley Mae Starcher Tabor formerly of Dry Hill, and currently of Batesville, MS, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 3, 2025, just shy of her 89th birthday. Shirley was a homemaker and a member of Black Jack Baptist Church in Batesville, Ms. Born in the rolling hills of West Virginia to the late Rulie Waitman "Dick" and Annie Mae Starcher.

Shirley was married for 47 wonderful years to the late Henry Tabor with whom she built a family with. Together they raised 3 children, Cheryl and Harry Duncan of Batesville, MS, Curt Tabor and Rhonda Vest and TJ Tabor all of Dry Hill, 3 grandchildren, Candice and Danny Harris of Oxford, MS, Garrett and Amanda Duncan of Southaven, MS, Lauren Tabor and Michael of Beckley and 1 great granddaughter, Hensley Duncan of Southaven, MS as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rulie Waitman "Dick" and Annie Mae Starcher of Beckley, WV, her brothers Gene, Delmus, and her twin Alvie Starcher, and 1 sister Joan Latimer of Horn Lake, MS.

Services will be 1pm Tuesday, June 10th in the Calfe Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Randy Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Garrett and Harry Duncan, Danny and Candice Harris, Lauren Tabor, and Doug Starcher.

In lieu of flowers you can make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tn.
