Shirley Pearl Carter, 78, of Shady Spring, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 2, 2015. Born April 10, 1936 in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elva Rorer Phipps.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William “Billy” Carter; sister, Mary Jane Gilkerson; brother, Dallas Phipps and many nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park.
