Sharon ‘Sherry’ Young, 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 18th, 2025. While her family and friends grieve her loss, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior.
She is survived by her loving husband, George; her daughter, April, and her husband, Wesley; her son, Phillip, and his spouse, Kristin; and her treasured grandchildren, Brady, Bryce, Adalyn, Landon, and Nolan. She is also survived by her brothers Gary Matherly (Betty), Larry (Susan), Dennis, and Randall (Julia); her sister Cathi Stump (Jerry); her sister-in-law Becky and many extended family members and friends.
Sherry’s life was a testimony of faith, love, and service. She faithfully loved her family, cared for others, and lived her life guided by her belief in Christ. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the faith she instilled in her family.
Her family finds peace in knowing that Sherry has been welcomed into her eternal home, and they look forward to the day of reunion promised by God’s Word.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” — John 14:1–3
