Sharon Sue Cales

Sharon Sue Myers Cales, loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 11, 2022 surrounded by family and friends.
Sharon was born on August 23, 1952 in Weston, WV to Ira “Bill” and Marguerite Myers. She was a 1970 graduate of Lewis County High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from West Virginia University before working at the VA Hospital for 11 years. After that, she joined her husband Barry in the accounting practice they ran out of their home. She was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church and taught Sunday School in the BYKOTA class. She was also a member of Grandview Country Club for more than 40 years.
In addition to being an avid golfer, Sharon also loved animals, tennis, and WVU basketball. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Bill Myers.
Sharon is survived by her mother Marguerite, her husband Barry of 46 years, and their daughter Sharra. Those also left to cherish her memory include her brothers Randall (Debbie) Myers and Rodney (Diane) Myers, her niece Lindsey (Willie) Gum and their daughters, her best friend Roseanna Pack, and her beloved cat Brewster.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Memorial Baptist Church in Beckley with Pastor Larry Deeds officiating. Visitation will take place starting at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Humane Society of Raleigh County, 325 Grey Flats Road, Beckley, WV 25801.
