Ruth Jewel Cozart

Ruth Jewel Cole Cozart, 92, of Beckley, WV went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Sunday, May 2, 2021 following a short illness while residing at Stonerise Skilled Nursing Facility. Born July 12, 1928 in Glen Daniel, WV to Mike Robert Cole and Cittie McMillion Cole. She was the last born of eight children and was preceded in death by her father and mother, along with siblings Grady Cole, Lundy Cole, Grace Cole Brunty, Troy “Trick” Cole, Ora Cole Acord, Tina Mae Cole Sanger, and John Cole. Ruth was also preceded in death by her loving late husband Eugene Cozart.
Ruth was an avid collector of antiques and frequently attended antique auctions along with regular visits to weekend local residential sales. She spent many years as a volunteer through the Beckley VA Medical Center and was active as an auxiliary member through the local chapter of the VFW. Ruth developed many lifelong friendships through her work with many families in the Beckley Community including the family of Dr. Leroy Edward Eckley, DDS along with the family of Judge and Pat McWhorter. Left to cherish her memory include multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, WV with services scheduled Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B officiated by Pastor Vondie Cook. Graveside rite of committal will immediately follow.
