Ronnie was retired from Beckley Newspaper with over 30 years of service. He served with the U.S. Air Force for a short period of time. He enjoyed bowling, playing the drums and attending his WWHS class reunions. 'Papa Ray' was a loyal supporter of the activities of all his grandchildren. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was past president and an active member of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Hughes.
