Patty Janelle Beckett

Crab Orchard, WV

Patty Janelle (Reed) Beckett, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Born in Beckley, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ina Reed. Patty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family.

A faithful member of Mabscott Baptist Church, Patty loved serving her church and found great joy in helping others through her faith. She dedicated her career to the Raleigh County Circuit Court, where she faithfully served as a Court Recorder for many years. She was known for her professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving her community.

Patty found her greatest happiness in caring for others. She loved cooking for family and friends, and no one ever left her table hungry. Whether preparing a holiday feast, a favorite family recipe, or a simple meal shared with loved ones, she expressed her love through her cooking. She treasured family gatherings, delighted in watching her beautiful tulips bloom each spring, and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Anyone who knew Patty knew she was feisty, quick-witted, and always ready with a memorable one-liner that could make everyone around her laugh. Her sharp sense of humor, loving heart, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, Carl and Ina Reed, Patty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William (Bill) Ernest Beckett; her son, Joey Beckett; and her brother, Ronald Reed.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Bellamy and husband Tim; her daughter-in-law, Kim Beckett; her grandchildren, Kaitlynn Lei, Amanda Bellamy, Jonathan Beckett and wife Carlie, and Isaac Beckett and wife Alexis; and her great-grandchildren, Raina Beckett, Emmett Beckett, and Elora Beckett.

Patty’s legacy of faith, love, laughter, generosity, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered every time a favorite meal is shared, a tulip blooms, or one of her unforgettable one-liners brings a smile to someone’s face.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Skee Barley officiating.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
