Olga Mastalski

October 17, 1926 — April 7, 2017

Olga Mastakski, 90, passed away April 7th, surrounded by family and dear friends in her final days at Bowers Hospice House.
Born October 17, 1926 in Nemicoln, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Rose Mastalski who immigrated from Poland, planting roots in Beckley to raise their eight children. Olga graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School class of ‘43 and worked for the Raleigh County Board of Education for many years, eventually retiring from WV Job Service. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church. Olga devoted her life to taking care of others, helping her Mother raise her younger siblings when their Father died at an early age. Olga was the Mastalski Matriarch that her family loved to gather around. Her love of family and friends was evident in all she did. In her leisure, she was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, taking many senior bus trips, line dancing and exercise classes.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters Helen, Sophie and Matilda, and brothers Henry and Leo.
Left to celebrate her life include her sister, Wanda Severino, Elkridge, MD, brother, Edward Mastalski (Marie), Liberty Township, OH, 15 nieces & nephews, and a host of family and friends that will cherish her memory.
A funeral liturgy will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Paul Wharton, V.S. officiating. A rite of committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calfee Funeral Home.
