Nita Maxine Scarborough

N. Maxine Scarborough, 93, of Beckley died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Maxine was born in Beckley on August 1, 1927 to Jack Pittman and Nellie Lilly Pittman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford Scarborough and her sister, Nola Pittman Bailey.
Surviving are her children Linda Scarborough, Barbara Welsh (Bill), Jeffrey Scarborough (Sandy), Joan Osborne (James) and David Scarborough (Tammy). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Maxine was a retired LPN. She was a member of Cranberry Baptist Church, Beckley. Until no longer able she enjoyed working with the John & Romans Ministry at Bible Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank hospice nurses and staff that helped in the care of their mother. Also, a very special thank you to Renee Harless for her loving care of our mother.
Services will be 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Calfee Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may gather with family 1 hour prior to the service.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to Bowers Hospice House.
