Nelda Pauline Gallaher

Nelda Gallaher, 93, of Beckley, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. Born December 12, 1924 she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Maynor Gunter. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude M. Gallaher; three sisters and 2 brothers.
Nelda was a secretary for Pittston Coal Company where she retired in 1986. She was a 1942 of Woodrow Wilson High School, Nelda was a world traveler and was a member of the Phymosia Garden Club and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Gallaher of Beckley; sister, Betty Verduce of Detroit, MI; nephews, Mike Lilly, Phillip Lilly, David Gilmore, Roger Gilmore along with several other nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B with Rev Jim Burton officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802-1472
