Nadine Virginia Richmond Dingess

April 1, 1927 — September 15, 2020

Nadine Virginia Richmond Dingess passed away at her home in Matthews, NC on September 15, 2020 following a short battle with cancer.
She was 93 years old. Born April 1, 1927 at New, WV, she was the daughter of the late Calvin & Nora Richmond.

Mrs. Dingess attended Marshall University and received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Morris Harvey College (University of Charleston.) She loved teaching and retired from the Raleigh County School System after 30 years of service. She touched the lives of countless schoolchildren, faithfully ending her career as a third grade teacher at Sylvia Elementary where she made many special friends.

Nadine was a member of the Beckley Church of God for 68 years and attended Matthews Church of God once she moved to North Carolina. She loved her church and her pastors. She was a pillar of faith and had a passionate love for the Lord. She always practiced kindness and never met a stranger. She was loved by all that knew her. Her light shined bright to all those around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Wade, her second husband, Paul M. Dingess, son Jerold Wade, daughter Lanette Wade Dillon, stepson Roger Dingess, grandson Charles Dillon, stepgrandson Michael Dingess, stepgranddaughter Amy Dingess Robertson, a very dear sister-in-law, Patricia Richmond, sisters Beatrice Riffe and Audra Waltman, brothers Garland, Erskine, Calvin Jr. and Curtis Richmond and many special sisters in law, nieces and nephews.

Left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kristy Dingess Stevens and her husband Dr. Kevin Stevens of Matthews, NC, stepsons Paul and Sam Dingess, stepdaughter Gay Bowling, beloved grandsons Parker, Chase and Connor Stevens, stepgrandsons Paul, Aaron and Zach Dingess, stepgrandaughters Ashley Dingess, Andrea Dingess Garretson, Teresa Rassega and Kimberly Bayless, a treasured brother Dr. QB Richmond and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Nadine's family meant everything to her. She had a strong bond with her sister in laws, sisters and brothers. Her siblings traveled together, went to church together and stuck by one another through many trials. She lived with her daughter, Kristy, and family for the past 15 years. Her grandsons meant the world to her and she would do anything for them. She taught them to be strong warriors and to love out loud. Her legacy will live through them for generations to come.
