Mildred Louise Pittman

Mildred Louise Pittman of Glen View, WV, finished her course on March 11, 2011, at the age of 92. Born July 1, 1918 in Eccles, WV, the daughter of the late Frank Day and Susie Day Spence. She was greeted by those family and friends who had preceded her, husband Alvin Pittman; her sisters, Sally Hanson, Nora Hayes, Margaret Murphy; her brothers, Daniel Day and Robert Day and step father, William Spence. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son Alvin Ray Pittman and wife Shirley; grandsons and wives, Jason and Bandy Pittman and Scott and Connie Harman of Edgewater, Fl; her daughter, Phyllis Pittman of Glen View, WV and step grandchildren Lee, Dwayne, Judy, and Myra Jo Ward; her daughter and son-in-law Susie and Jim Brock of MacArthur, WV, grandson and his wife Jeremy and Karel Stover of Sevierville, TN; her four great-grandchldren, Makenzie and Jalynn Stover and Lola and Levi Pittman; her two sisters, Ruth Gall of Sun City, AZ, Ocie Gross of Richmond, VA; numerous extended family and friends.

Mrs. Pittman has faithfully served Glen View Independent Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was honored to be considered the “grandmother” of many young people in her community and church. She always had plenty of love to share.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Duane Pease and Pastor Charles Acord officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaday Cemetery at Glen View. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Canaday, Steven Lively, David Martin, Jeremy Stover, Jason Pittman and Butch Acord.
