Maurnettia Evelyn Gray

Maurnettia Evelyn Gray, 83, of Crab Orchard, WV, passed away May 22, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born to Stephen and Frances Canaday on July 19, 1937 in Beckley, WV.
Evelyn was married to the love of her life, the late William (Bill) Gray for 59 years. Together they were blessed with 2 children, 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was a member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church for over 60 years with many treasured friends left behind. She loved teaching Sunday school and vacation Bible school to share her love of Christ to others.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Linda Gray Lewis and husband Rodney Lewis and Stephen Gray; grandchildren, Leigh Korn and husband Eric, Lauren Johnson and husband Matthew; 5 great grandchildren, Aubri, Douglas, Kinsley and Paisleigh; 2 brothers, Bill and David Canaday and sister Hazel Wood.
She is also preceded in death by a sister, Martha Stump and a brother, Bobby Canaday.
A celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Terry Hatcher and Scott Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaday Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
