Mary June Cales
January 8, 1929 — February 19, 2018
Mary June “Hellems” Cales, 89, of Beckley, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018. Born January 8, 1929 in Hinton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Earl Leonard and Mary Evelyn Wallace Hellems.
June was a retired head cashier for the Bank of Raleigh. She was a member of the Beckley Presbyterian Church, Women’s Circle and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Oswald Cales and a brother, Jack Lee Hellems.
She is survived by her children, George Cales of Hinton, WV, Mary Pat Wickline of Ponte Verda Beach, FL, James Earl Cales of Beckley, four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Services will be 1 PM Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Beckley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens at Maddams Creek. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM Sunday at Calfee Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Gus Farris, Steve Wickline, Casey Cales, Jake Cales, Josh Srticklen, Cainan Cales.
