Mrs. Carfrey worked 40 years as a legal secretary, later as an apartment manager. During this time she assisted her husband in pastoring various churchs in Ohio, Arizona and California. She was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church at Midway and had been a resident of Raleigh County for the past 16 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rex Carfrey on February 16, 1987, by a brother, Charles Victor Witter on September 11, 1994.
