Martha Susan Rucker

Martha Susan Rucker 70, died at home on Friday March 25.
She was born on October 17, 1951 in Fitzgerald Georgia, the daughter of Floyd and Effie McElmurray.
Mrs. Rucker was a Pharmacist at Kroger in Beckley and also a Delta Airlines flight attendant for over 30 years. Besides her very busy professional life she enjoyed reading and travel and being a member of the Briarcliff Garden Club and her Beckley Book Club. She was an active member of the Beckley Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband William James “Bill” Rucker, and sons William James Rucker III and fiancé Skylar Radford; Brian Garrett Rucker and wife Emma and grandson Canaan. Siblings include brothers Leroy and Ike McElmurray and sister Virginia McElmurray Watson.
There will be a private family service and she will be laid to rest next to her mother and father in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca Georgia on Wednesday March 30, 2022.
The family would like to give special thanks to Cindy Parkes and her team of caretakers Bethany Profitt, Lora Vargo and Linda Kuhn.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Martha’s memory can be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia or Beckley Presbyterian Church.
