Marjorie "Marge" Williamson Parker

Marjorie Parker, a resident of Raleigh County, WV and formerly of Harrison County, WV, died on August 18, 2026. Marjorie was born on December 7, 1934, the daughter of George and Opal (Smith) Williamson of Adamsville, WV. The second of three children. Her sister, Wilma Lee Stout, and her brother, George Williamson Jr., both preceded her in death.

Marge worked in Harrison County for 29 years as a bookkeeper. She was married to the late William "Bill" Parker for 60 years. (He preceded her in death in 2020.) Bill Parker served as pastor of Hepzibah Baptist Church (Taylor County) and Enon Baptist Church (Salem, WV,) where Marge also served as pastor's wife in addition to her job as bookkeeper.

Marge and Bill had four children: Denise (Dusty) Fisher of Burley, Idaho, Darren Parker of Beckley, WV, Duane (Michelle) Parker of Laurel, Mississippi, and Diane (Michael) Southern of Shinnston, WV. Marjorie and Bill had six grandchildren: Courtney Stoots of Bridgeville, Pennsylvannia, Tim (Nichole) Parker of Elkview, WV. Tabitha (Matthew) Stebel of Crab Orchard, WV, Larissa (Jesse) Dring of Lexington, NC. Destin (Lee) Parker of Laurel, Mississippi. Danielle (Ethan) Hammons, of Raleigh, Mississippi. Marge also had nine great-grandchildren: Madilyn Smith, Hunter Smith, Rylynn Parker, Everleigh Parker, Myra Stebel, Eddie Stebel, Danali Stebel, Asher Dring, Renin Dring and Stephen Hammons.

Marge lived in Beckley, WV since 1981, when Bill came to serve Calloway Heights Baptist Church as pastor, As pastor's wife, Marge served in many roles. She continued as a member of Calloway Heights Baptist Church until her death. She leaves many valued friends at the church. 

In her last years, Marge was blessed to have three caregivers, whom both she and her family wish to thank: Lois Megamuse, Connie Workman and Kathy Hedrick. She was also under the care of Hospice of Southern WV. All thanks to her main nurses, Randi McKnight and Cassie Street, as well as the entire staff of Hospice. Also special appreciation is given for Betty Sarrett, who called Marge faithfully every night since 2020. Their friendship was treasured by Marge, and Betty's faithfulness and loyalty to Marge and the whole family has been deeply cherished.

Funeral services will be held at Calloway Heights Baptist Church on Rural Acers Drive, Beckley, WV on Tuesday, August 25 at 10 am. Visitation is from 4-7 pm on Monday, August 24, at Calloway Heights Baptist Church. Burial in the National Cemetery at Pruntytown, WV will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 202. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made in Marge's memory to Hospice of Southern West Virginia or Calloway Heights Baptist Church.
