Lyndia Sparacino

March 4, 1950 — December 8, 2025

Lyndia Mae Morris Sparacino, 75, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away after a short illness on December 8, 2025, at CAMC in Charleston, West Virginia. Lyndia was born in Montgomery, West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gertrude Mae Webb of Whitesville, West Virginia; her parents, Homer and Laura Alice Morris of Whitesville, West Virginia; and her beloved brothers-in-law, Charlie Wooldridge of Bradley, West Virginia, J.D. Pettry of Naoma, West Virginia, and Sugie “Charles” Wiseman of Cornelius, North Carolina.

Lyndia graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1968 and later from the Raleigh County Licensed Practical Nursing School in 1972. She worked at Beckley Hospital and concluded her long, dedicated nursing career in the Emergency Room at Raleigh General Hospital. Lyndia was compassionate and devoted herself to caring for patients in her community. After her nursing career, she became a Realtor in Beckley, later finding success with Raleigh Real Estate & Development, Inc.

She also generously volunteered her time at the Beckley Soup Kitchen and supported the Raleigh County Humane Society. Lyndia was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Beckley. She enjoyed planting flowers, exercising, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.

Lyndia is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Anthony J. Sparacino; her adored children, Sam Sanna of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Wendy Openlander of Beckley, West Virginia; and her two cherished grandchildren, Taylor and Parker Openlander, also of Beckley.

She is also survived by a loving group of siblings: Phyllis Wooldridge of Bradley, West Virginia; Sandy Morris of Teays Valley, West Virginia; Diane Wiseman of Winfield, West Virginia; Frances Pettry of Winfield, West Virginia; Homer Morris Jr. of Teays Valley; and Tina Morris of Columbia, South Carolina. Additional survivors include many nieces and nephews, her great-nephew Ryker Wooldridge, and her newest great-great-niece Everleigh Wooldridge. Lastly, she leaves behind her beloved cat, “Babe.”

Services will be entrusted to Calfee Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Visitation will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Beckley from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park immediately following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lyndia Sparacino Nursing Scholarship Fund.
