Lila Lynn Bankenbush

Lila Lynn Bankenbush, 53, of Bradley, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Born May 12, 1962 in Beckley she was the daughter of Sandra Meadows and the late James Williams.
Lila was a manager at the MacArthur Walmart and a 1980 graduate of Liberty High School.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Darryl Lee Bankenbush; daughters, Taunya Sorrells and her husband Antwan of Beckley and Nichole Stone; grandchildren, Tera age 16, Kylie age 13 and Gavin age 11; mother, Sandra Meadows and her husband Elliott; step-sister, Deanna; sister Lisa Dechant and her husband Chris of Racine, WI; brother, Roger Williams and his wife Denise of CA; nieces, Brittany and Bree Williams of CA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her extended Walmart family from management to employees. They were an inspiration to Lila and her whole family. She felt blessed to have known and worked with such a great bunch of people. The family would also like to thank the 4 South nursing staff at Raleigh General Hospital and the entire staff at the Carl Larson/Raleigh Regional Cancer center for their compassion and care.
In Lieu of flowers Lila’s family requests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
Following Lila’s wishes she will be cremated with the family holding a gathering at a later date.
