Lacy Eugene Short

Lacy Eugene Short, a son, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on January 18, 1985, in Beckley, West Virginia, Lacy was a spirited and adventurous soul who embraced life with open arms.

Lacy was the beloved son of Dovie Short and the late Elijah Short. Growing up in Mabscott, he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. From a young age, Lacy found solace and joy in the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing in serene lakes and hunting in the lush forests of West Virginia.

Preceded in death by his father, Elijah Short, and his half-brother, Billy Barnett, Lacy is survived by his loving mother, Dovie Short, of Mabscott, his brother Lige Short, also of Mabscott, and his sister Pansy Rowe of Beaver, along with her husband Johnny, and several nieces and nephews.
