Karol Leona Hensley passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a long illness.
Born on April 24, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, Karol lived a life filled with laughter, love, honesty, and fierce devotion to those she cherished. She was truly one of a kind.
Karol was the beloved wife of Frank Hensley, her partner through life's adventures, challenges, and countless memories. Their love story was beautiful, spirited, and enduring, spanning many years and creating the foundation of a family that meant everything to her.
She was a devoted mother to Cindy, Frank, and Jennifer, and a proud grandmother to Devin, Katelynn, Jordan, Abigail, Jack, Joshua, and Matthew. She also adored her faithful companion, Cody, who brought her comfort and joy.
Karol was preceded in death by her parents, Geraldine and Isadore Bornstein, and her sister, Becky. She is survived by her husband, Frank; her children and grandchildren; her siblings, Mervyn, Jeryl, and Lydia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
To know Karol was to know laughter. She had an uncanny ability to turn even the most ordinary moments into cherished memories, often accompanied by belly laughs and flushed faces. Her sense of humor was unforgettable, sometimes unexpected, and never failed to keep those around her entertained. There was never a dull moment when Karol was near.
She was known for her brutal honesty, her expressive side-eye, and her willingness to tell it exactly how it was. Yet behind that strong spirit was a woman whose love ran deep. She loved fiercely, protected those she cared about, and offered comfort, guidance, and support no matter the situation-sometimes delivered at a slightly louder octave, but always from the heart.
Her family will forever miss her smile, her laugh, her wisdom, her strength, and the loving presence that made every gathering feel complete. While it is difficult to imagine life without her, those who loved her take comfort in knowing she would want them to hold each other close, share stories, laugh often, and keep her humor alive.
Her children would like to share a special message with their father, Frank: We are so incredibly sorry for your loss. Your love for Mom was a whirlwind-crazy, beautiful, and unwavering. Please know that we are family, and we are here for you. It is time for you to trust us, hold our hands, and believe that we've got you, just as the two of you always had us.
Karol's legacy is one of love, laughter, resilience, and family. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories she created an my the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her forever.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always
