Karen Sue Wood, 60, of Oak Hill, formerly a lifelong resident of Beckley and MacArthur passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 from a battle with cancer at Bowers Hospice House.
Karen was born in Beckley on February 18, 1958, the only daughter and second born child to the late Homer Lloyd Wood and Jetta Garnet Archer Wood. Of Christian faith, Karen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Left to cherish her memory are her children, daughters Cassie Everhart of oak Hill, WV and Leighan Lilly and her husband Jason of Hilltop, WV; grandchildren, Alexia Brisby of California, Steven Gilbert of Maryland, Korbin and Kalyn Clyburn of Hilltop, WV; sister to Doug Wood and his wife Patty of Beckley, WV; aunt to Miranda and her husband Josh Canady and their three daughters, Annalyn, Lillian and Josilyn of Beckley, Chris and Brantlea Wood of Beckley.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes of no funeral service and cremation, the family will meet at a later date for a private memorial.
