June Ethel Adkins

June Ethel Adkins, age 87, of Midway, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at her home.

June was born and raised in West Virginia and spent her life devoted to her family. In her younger years, she held many jobs to help provide for those she loved, most notably working at Eppy’s Pharmacy. Later in life, June became a homemaker, where she found great joy in caring for her husband and preparing home-cooked meals for family and friends. Few things made her happier than a full table and loved ones gathered around it.

She especially cherished time spent with her family at their fishing camp on the Greenbrier River, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. June will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her devotion to family, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony Williams (Wanda), Joe Adkins(April), and Tony Adkins (Paige); her sister, Mary Young; her grandchildren, Ryan Williams (Jessica), Nick Williams (Amber), Riley (Nick), Carter(Allie), Meredith Justice(Jake), Michael, Brianna, and Kenneth; her great-grandchildren, Landon, Lainey, Lakelynn, Willow, Carlyn, Cohen, and Tatum; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Eugene Adkins; her daughter, Lana; son, Gene; brothers, Cecil Hughes, Eddie Hughes, George Hughes, Roy Hughes, Russell Hughes and her sister, Nellie Lilly.

Services will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, at Calfee Funeral Home. Family may visit beginning at 11:00 a.m., visitation will follow at 12:00 p.m., and services will begin at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Southern WV, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV  25802.

June’s legacy of love, strength, and family devotion will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
