Judy Taylor Farley, 73, of Beckley, WV, passed away on September 22, 2025. Born on May 14, 1952, in Charleston, WV, she was the third daughter of the late Sam and Opal Taylor.
Judy attended J.E. Robins Elementary School, Woodrow Wilson Junior High, Stonewall Jackson High School, Morris Harvey College (now the University of Charleston), and West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. She dedicated her life to education, teaching at J.E. Robins, Mt. View Elementary, and Sophia Elementary, and later serving as a school counselor at Maxwell Hill Elementary and Stanaford Elementary.
She was deeply loved and respected by her students, colleagues, and friends. Judy had a special gift with children, treating each one with patience and kindness. Her caring nature touched everyone who knew her. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a gentle word, making others feel valued and loved. Her kindness also extended to animals, especially those in need of shelter and care.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Larry Farley; son, James (Autumn); sisters, Joyce Parker and Nancy Pfister; niece, Krisann Evoli (Nicola); great-niece, Madeleine Brown; nephew, Forrest Parker; Larry’s nephews, Johnny Cox and David Cox, and her feline fur babies, Rocky and Peaches. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at Calfee Funeral Home on September 26 from 12:00 – 2:00 with the funeral to begin at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Raleigh County, 325 Grey Flats Road Beckley WV 25801.
Judy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She now rests in her heavenly home, safe in the eternal love of God.
