Joe "Joab" Mcintyre, 67, Fairview School Road, Bolt, WV; passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on August 1, 2026. He was born on December 7, 1958 in Gassaway, WV. Joe, the fifth child and third son of the late Rev. Perry M. and Georgia L. (Hickman) McIntyre, was raised a "Preacher's Kid" and lived various placed in West Virginia, making friends wherever he went. When his parents were appointed to Rock Castel Baptist Church in Pineville, WV Joe met and married Teresa May Worley, the love of his life. They were married on November 21, 1980.
They lived their life together in service to the Lord and touched many lives, especially those of young people while serving as youth leaders at Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church in Bolt. He also served as a Deacon at Breckenridge from 2002-2022. He most recently attended Bible Baptist Church, Beckley WV.
Joe worked at and retired from Joy Global - (Komatsu) for 41 years. Joe enjoyed shopping for antiques and toys with Teresa, and was proud to show off his latest find. It was rare to find Joe without a smile on his face. He found joy in life and shared that joy with those around him.
Joe is survived by his mother-in-law Mary Worley; his very special brother-in-law and sister Wayne and Linda Lewis, Terra Alta, WV, sister Dianne Fadal, Waco TX; brother-in-law Phyllip and wife Sherry "Cookie" Worley, sister-in-law Cheryl and husband Kimmie Hall, brother-in-law Brian and wife Denise Worley, sister-in-law Sherry and husband Chuck Daniels, sisters-in-law Patty McIntyre and Beth McIntyre and cherished bonus son Thomas Cobb. Additionally, Joe had numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Joe will be missed by his beloved canine companion Ben.
In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his father-in-law Dexter Worley; brothers Mark D McIntyre and Perry M Mcintyre Jr; brothers-in-law Kim Worley and Mitchell Fadal.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Bible Baptist Church, 2071 Robert C. Byrd Dr, Beckley, WV with Pastors Sam Green and Dewey Lowe officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm until service time. Interment will be at the Worley Family Cemetery in Bolt.
