Jeanne Marie Sumpter

Jeanne Marie Sumpter, 61 of Beckley, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022.

Born March 25, 1961 in Montgomery County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred N. and Marie Esperson Compton. 

Jeanne formerly worked at Cypress Gardens in Florida and Dudley Nursery in Christiansburg, VA.  She loved her family and enjoyed volunteering with WV Rapids, YMCA, and WV Soccer Association.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, William Sumpter; sons, Robert and Mathew both of Beckley; sister, Bettianne Quinn (John) of State College, PA and brother, Robert Compton of Lynchburg, VA.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Calfee Funeral Home. Burial will be on Friday, November 11^th in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, VA. at 11:00 a.m.
