Janet retired from the Raleigh County Board of Education having taught at Woodrow Wilson High School, where she was the Lassie Coach (dance team), 1990 Class Sponsor, and a Special Education teacher. As a member she served the Lamp Lighters Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, Dorothy Hinzman Women’s Circle, and the United Methodist Choir. She loved the Lord her God and was a true witness to how her Savior’s Love, Jesus Christ, gave her strength to face each challenge she went through with grace, patience, and kindness, knowing he was with her every step of the way. Her last message in life was to treat others with kindness for that’s all we have, and it is free to give to everyone. In addition to her church family, she was a part of the Chaminade Music Club in Beckley, WV, Mountaineer Republican Women where she served as a chairperson for 2 years, she also served on the Raleigh County Executive Committee for the Republican party, and Delta Kappa Gamma.
