James Kenneth Snodgrass 94 of Arnett, passed away Monday, April 20th, at the Beckley V.A. Hospital following a short illness after losing his life-long wife of 72 years Patricia who had just passed away on April 5th, 2026.
Mr Snodgrass was born March 5th, 1932 to the late Jesse James and Nellie Wills Snodgrass. Ken proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the USS Orron AS-18. Mr Snodgrass was a born again Christian, former Minister, and Gospel singer for many years. Ken had a love for the Lord and music that he loved to share with others. Kenneth mastered numerous trades throughout his lifetime from custom auto work as owner of K and C Collision, a Fabricator for Challenge Cement, building concrete hauling trucks and as a Fabricator for J and L Machinery. Kenneth was somewhat obsessed with achieving perfection in the work he did.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter Veronica of (Arnett) that was instrumental in always seeing that her parents were well cared for. Kenneth is also survived by two sons, Ken (Reggie) Snodgrass, (wife) Cyndi of Luray, Va. , Aaron (Brent), (wife) Brenda (Sissy) of Sophia. Other survivors include siblings, Phillip and Patricia of Arnett along with Grandson, Adam Mamola, (wife) Michelle of Staunton Va., Granddaughter, Angela Culbertson, (husband) Adam of Luray Va., Grandson, Ryan Snodgrass, (wife) Brittany of Hurricane, WV. along with 5 great grand children, (Ashley, Logan, Aubrey, Quincy and Vivian. along with many nieces and nephews as well as 2 sisters-in -law Icie and Pat. Ken cherished and was proud of his family.
Kenneth was preceded in death by a grandson, (Kevin Mamola), 3 infant brothers along with brother, Charles Mankin and Brother Harry Snodgrass.
We have definitely lost another that lived a life that had witnessed history and stories that have been shared through generations as we continue to share their stories, we can only hope that they will last for generations to come.
Services will be 12 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Rebecca Chapel, Rock Creek, WV with Pastor Earl Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Wills Family Cemetery at Arnett. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Adam Mamola, Ryan Snodgrass, Joe Wills, Garry Tabor, Garry Dickens, Jeff Stone, Honorary pallbearer, Billy Sauls.
