James (Jamie) Calvin Painter, 57, of Pax, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
Born May 14, 1965, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Junior Calvin Painter, who died July 4, 1974, and Versa Elva Hurd Painter, who died Sept. 29, 2019. Both parents were light of his life.
James was in the construction business, having worked for Building Services and Home Building & Remodeling.
He loved classic cars and was a big NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Chevy fan.
He was happiest pulling jokes on his many special friends and telling tales, just like his Dad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Melissa Jane Painter Smith, who passed away Oct. 15, 2008, and Vickie Lynn Painter Bowyer, who died Nov. 2, 2020.
He is survived by his life partner, Teresa Thompson and her children, Cecelia Gilbert and Nicholas Thompson; sisters, Judith (Judy) and her husband, Charlie Karbonit of Beckley, and Janice Kay and husband, Patrick Davis of Pax and brother-in-law, Jerry Bowyer of Cirtsville, a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family member and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, at Maple Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Bowyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Pax Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service.
