Helen L. Bowden

Helen L. Bowden, 89, of Lakeview Dr, Beckley, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at home following a long illness.
Born March 13, 1928 in Richmond, VA she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Edith Roach.
Mrs. Bowden was an avid bingo player and she loved to craft. She was a member of the Beckley Moose Lodge No 1606. She was also the F.O.P pool manager for several years. She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bowden, Sr, sister, Audrey Carter, grandson, Johnny Delbert Frey and grandson-in-law, Steve Harrah.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Ann Frey and husband Willie; three sons, Jack Bowden, Jr. and wife Becky, Wesley C. Bowden and Fletcher Bowden and companion, Lisa Bradley. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ronny Frey, Steven Frey (Pam), Christy Jones (Matt), Tammy Harrah and Wesley N. Bowden (Cassey); great grandchildren, Steven Frey, Jr, Katrinia Lovell, Garrett Jones, Emily Jones, Zach Harrrah, Ryley Bowden and Bentley Bowden. She is also survived by a great-great grandson, Kyler Lovell.
Services will be 2 pm Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call from 12 pm until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steven Frey, Steven Frey, Jr, Matt Jones, Garrett Jones, Zach Harrah and Larry Holley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronny Frey and Wesley N. Bowden.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Southern WV.
