Helen Delores Petitt

Helen Delores Mills Petitt, 80, of Fayetteville, WV, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 22, 2016.
Born August 16, 1939 in Pemberton, WV, she was the son of the late Oliver and Erma Mills of MacArthur.
Helen retired from the Raleigh County Board of Education and had devoted 25 years as a first grade teacher at Hollywood Elementary. She was a member of the Mabscott Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Denver C. Petitt and a grandson, Rodney Petitt.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Mike Petitt of Gap Mills, WV; one grandson, Richard Petitt and wife Ashley of Victor, WV; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Riley and numerous other family members as well as her cousin, Jerri Lilly and her husband, J.C. of Ghent who cared for Helen during her final months.
The family will hold a memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Mills Family Cemetery in Egeria.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Doug and Lucy Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
