Hattie Marie Cunningham

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hattie Marie Cunningham, a loving mother, a remarkable woman. Hattie Cunningham’s courageous battle with cancer came to an end on 8/24/25 surrounded by her family. HATTIE was 84 years old. Hattie, born on August 20th 1941 to Hattie Irene & Henderson Payton Griffith in Bolt, WV, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Hattie Marie loved to cook, watch games & cooking shows. Up until the end Hattie maintained her kindness, grace, compassion and love of family and friends.

Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings Tommy Griffith, Margaret Mulhern, Ellen Thompson, two sons Bill Cunningham and Sidney Clarke. Survivors include her sisters & brothers Josie McCain, Dorothy Barker, Phyllis Allen, Wilma Barnett, Martha Clark, Curtis Griffith, Larry Griffith, Robert Griffith, Ray Griffith, Frank Griffith. Children Eddie Clarke, Danny & Julia Perdue, Timmy Perdue, Kenneth & Robin Cunningham, Mark & Gale Cunningham, Jennifer & James Spencer. Grandchildren David, Allen, Crystal, Matthew, Johnathon, Autumn, Alexis, Javonte, Jabari and Anastasia. Great grandchildren Jason, Hannah, Zackary, Sidney, Phillis, Hailey, Megan, Christopher. Great-great grandchildren Maddox and Lennox.

A memorial service to celebrate Hattie Marie Cunningham’s life will be held on Saturday August 30th 2025 10:30am at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 S. Oakwood Ave. Beckley, WV.
