Gladys Pearl Dunbar

Gladys Pearl Dunbar, 88, of Beckley went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2018.
Born in Bolt, WV on February 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elsie Snuffer. She was one of six children, survived by her close sister, Joyce Bolen of Beckley.
She married her beloved husband of 71 years, Hartley Junior, on February 2, 1946. They shared a lifetime of love and affection and were reunited in Heaven in time for their 72nd wedding anniversary. They were the parents of five children, Ronnie (deceased), Jerry (Barbara) Dunbar, Sue (Levi) McClung, Jeanie (the late Darrell) Moore, and Greg (Judy) Dunbar. She also loved Joan Vilagie like a daughter. She was the very proud “Mamaw” to eight grandchildren, Angie, J.W, Scott, James, Christy, Bethany, Drew, and Aaron, and 13 great grandchildren, Alexa, Tori, Myah, Kaden, Josselyn, Paris, Jayce, Oliver, Reese, Atticus, Reagan, Adalynn, and Nora.
She was an extremely sweet, compassionate, generous person who loved spending time with her family, cooking for others, watching games shows, going to garage sales on Saturday mornings, and attending church. She was a longtime member of the church of God, currently a member at the Glen White Church of God. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Jess Farley, Drew Dunbar and J.W. Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 am until service time on Monday.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
