George Franklin Smith, Sr., 79, of Stanaford, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
Born January 8, 1941 at Eccles, he was the son of the late Hearse Perry and Madge Margaret Evans Smith.
George attended Stanaford New Beginnings Church before he became sick. He last worked at Peerless Packing Co. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, George Smith, Jr.; brothers, Edward, Perry and Joe Smith; sisters, Martha Taylor and Datas Warden.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Bennett Smith; sons, James E. Smith and wife Kelly of Stanaford, Dale Smith of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, James Matthew Smith, Steven Alexander Smith, Makayla, McKenzie and Michael Smith; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bolton Smith and step-son, Scott Hylton.
Graveside services will be 11 am Friday, June 26, 2020 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Lonnie Grear officiating.
