Gary Lynn Canady, Sr.

Gary Lynn Canady Sr., 69, of Coal City, member of Sophia Soak Creek Tabernacle Church, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 27, 2021 while at home after suffering from a short illness.
Born September 28, 1951 at Beckley Hospital, Beckley WV. He was the son of the late Glen Preston and Lillian Gertrude Thomas Canady. He is also proceeded in death by the love of his life Twilla Mae Dalton Canady of 50 years. Also preceding him in death are siblings Preston McGrady Canady (Gloria) and Janet Canady.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Gary Lynn Canady Jr., Timothy Edward Canady (Melissa), and Amanda Yvonne Thompson (Joshua) Larry Dalton, and Kimberly Young (Alan). Also, his grandchildren Morgan Lester, Addison Thompson, Tyler Lester, Lillian Thompson, Robert Hurd, and great granddaughter Sophee Lester. Siblings Ann Lopez, Ginger Lester (Toney), Cindy Ridgeway (Bob), David Canady (late Sharon), Charles Jerry Canady (Judy), Kenny Canady (Linda). As well as several nieces, nephews, other special family members and many friends.
Gary loved God, his family, friends, playing guitar, cooking, and making people laugh.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Calfee Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pemberton Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Lester, Elijah(JoJo) Trotter, Larry Dalton, Alan Young, Toney Lester, Addison Thompson.
