Franklin Delano Underwood

Franklin Delano Underwood, 80, of Rock Creek, died Monday, September 18, 2017.
Born October 23, 1936 in Kayford, WV, he was the son of the late Walter and Ida Mae Thompson Underwood.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Loretta Starks, Lillian Underwood and brothers, Dennis and Bud Dale Underwood.
Franklin was a disabled plumber. He loved his animals and was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Franklin coached Mt. View Little League for several years. He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Marines and was a member of the American Legion.
Franklin is survived by children, Deborah Underwood, Billie Jo Bolton of Beckley, Franklin Underwood, II of Eccles; grandchildren, Franklin, III and Katelynn Underwood and great granddaughter, Kalie Rae Parsons all of NC; former wife, Katie Scarbro of Beckley; nephews, Denny and Stinker Starks and special family, Roger and Teresa Scarbro and their children Lorrie Holstein and Sheila Scarbro.
Graveside services and burial will be 1 pm Friday, September 22, 2017 at The Resting Place Cemetery at Rock Creek. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm until service time.
