Edna Nasby, 92, of Beckley, West Virginia, was born on November 24, 1932, in the Milburn area of West Virginia and departed this life peacefully on October 11, 2025, at Hospice.
The Nasby family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teams at ARH Hospital, ARH Home Health, Encompass in Princeton, Dr. Suresh Thomas, Sa' Club Pharmacy, and Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their compassionate care during Edna's final years.
Edna is predeceased by her beloved husband of 71 years, Bob Nasby; her son Robert Lee Nasby; her parents, Leona and Shalor Couch; and her siblings, including Margaret Aaron and her husband Alton, Charles Couch and his wife Wanda, Melvin Couch and his wife Mildren, Joe Couch and his wife Barbara, and her sister Nancy.
Edna is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Casey Nasby and Courtney Nasby, and her great-granddaughter, Zoey Nasby.
Throughout her life, Edna was known for her strength and caring nature. Married to her soulmate, Bob, they created a loving home in Beckley, where they raised their son and embraced their role as grandparents. Edna was proud to serve as the Human Resource Director at Beckley ARH Hospital for 34 years, where she was a well-respected figure who cared deeply for both the employees and patients alike. After retiring, she continued her dedication to service by working at Elder Beerman.
A devoted member and deaconess of the First Baptist Church, Edna found joy in serving her community, particularly as the director of Helping Hands, where she touched many lives through her kindness and compassion. Edna's warm heart and generous spirit endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love and care will forever live on in the hearts of family, friends, and all who knew her.
Funeral services to celebrate Edna's remarkable life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Calfee Funeral Home with Rev. Doc Adkins, Pastor Brian Knight and Rev. Father Samule Haddad officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be from 11 until the service time. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
