Dr. Mousa Ibrahim Dababnah passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026 at age 84.
Born in Na'ur, Jordan, Dr. Dababnah went on to earn his medical degree in Syria and began his career as a physician in Chicago. He eventually settled in West Virginia, where he dedicated more than fifty years to serving the people of Raleigh County and the surrounding communities.
Throughout his long practice, Dr. Dababnah cared for thousands of patients with a depth of commitment rarely seen. He believed in treating every patient as family and made himself available at all hours and on weekends, embodying the true spirit of a small-town physician. He was affectionately known as "Doctor D" to generations of patients, and his care consistently went above and beyond the call of duty.
A nature lover, he found joy in fishing and gardening. He was also an avid student of history, politics, and religion.
Dr. Dababnah is survived by his wife, Rana; his four children Abram, Sarah, Alia, and Tula; three grandchildren; and an extended family of brothers, sisters, and cousins in Chicago, Illinois and Jordan.
A devoted husband, father, physician, and community servant, Dr. Dababnah leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and tireless service that touched countless lives.
