Donna Kay McBride

Donna Kay McBride, 81, of Prosperity, West Virginia, passed away Monday, September 21st, 2026, at Bowers Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born June 17th, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Bert Lewis and Louisa Gammel Lewis. Donna was a registered phlebotomist and dedicated 35 years of her career to Fayette Clinic. Throughout those years, she touched the lives of countless patients and coworkers through her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others. She was a member of Weirwood Baptist Church and a devoted West Virginia Mountaineer fan who especially enjoyed Mountaineer football and basketball. Donna had a gift for mentoring, encouraging, and helping others, and she will be remembered for the lasting impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert "Jim" McBride; her brother, Jerry Randolph Lewis; and her children, Sandra McAllister, James "Mike" McBride, and Susan McBride Hylton. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Julie and her husband Arthur Bolen, Billy and his wife Maria Dillinger, and Barry and his wife Melissa Dillinger. Her daughter-in-law, Cynthia McBride; her sister, Sandy and her husband Curtis Coburn; and her half-sister, Penny Lewis. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 25th, 2026, at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, West Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, with Pastor Dave Fondale officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's memory to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, West Virginia 25801.
