Deborah Elaine Goddard, 73, of Beckley, WV passed away on Monday, August 10 at the Bowers Hospice House. Born on January 3, 1953 in Beckley she was the daughter of the late Hatty and Ernest Wickline.

She married the love of her life Mike on June 23, 1973 and began an adventure that included homes in Crab Orchard, Daniels, Beckley, Lexington, KY and finally they settled in Maxwell Hill where they remained for almost 40 years. Debbie was a retired church hostess at Memorial Baptist Church and also worked various retail jobs throughout her life. She was a 1970 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a lifelong member of Memorial Baptist Church that her grandmother started. She loved Jesus and enjoyed gospel music, the Hallmark channel, helping and spending time with her family, her Sunday School class and supporting the Beckley Flying Eagles.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her in-laws Judith and Wilbur Goddard. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Michael Goddard of 53 years; three sisters: Jeannie Rogar and husband Larry of Lanark, Terri Rogar and husband David of Mabscott, and Lydia Tankersley and husband Rick of Daniels; two brother in laws, Pat Goddard and wife Glenna of Statesville, NC and Len Goddard of Huntington; a daughter Michele Sarrett and husband Chad (Street) of Beckley and son Jeff Goddard and wife Adrienne of Mooresville, North Carolina. Eight grandkids, Madeline Sarrett of Fairfax, VA, Mackenzie Sarrett of Morgantown, WV, Macy Sarrett of Beckley, Emily Goddard of Raleigh, NC, Sam and Ansley Goddard of Mooresville, NC, and Declan and Lillian Thacker of Mooresville NC . Special nieces and nephews Christy Rogar and husband Kevin, Christopher Rogar and wife Joanna, Amy Rogar and husband Rick, Tara Rogar, Nick Tankersley, Cody Tankersley and wife Rebecca, Chris Goddard and Chandra Goddard and all their respective families. And a host of very special cousins and other family members that she loved.

A memorial service will be held to Celebrate the Life of Debbie Goddard on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 1 pm at Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. James Boyd officiating. Friends may visit with family from 11-1 prior to the services. A burial service will be held Monday at Sunset Memorial Park at 11 am. Pallbearers will be Christopher Rogar, Nicholas Tankersley, Cody Tankersley, Kevin Gallaher, Chris Goddard, Pat Goddard, and Rick Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy can be made to Mac's Toy Fund, Hospice of Southern WV or Beckley Football.
