Darrell Eugene Stegel, Jr.

Darrell Eugene Stegel, Jr., 52, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 7, 2016 following a short illness. Born November 7, 1963 in Newport News, VA, he was the son of Darrell Eugene Stegel, Sr. and Dixie Lee Thomas Stegel of Beckley. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kirsty Dawn Stegel and his son, Darrell “Boo” Eugene Stegel, III.
Darrell was a nature lover at heart, an avid hunter and fisherman. From a young age, he developed the greatest love and admiration for the outdoors and all of God’s creatures.
Darrell was an incredible artist; he found so much joy in painting. His gift will live on through his magnificent works of art.

Those left to cherish his loving memory, include his parents Darrell and Dixie Stegel, his daughter, Shayla Renee Border and husband Jared of Colorado Springs, CO; step-daughter, Shaunna Amick of Beckley; grandchildren, Keegan and Kaylee Border of Colorado Springs, CO; Elijah Mills and Haley Amick of Beckley; sisters, Jane Jackson and husband Dan of Fayetteville, Jamie Bailey of Beckley and nieces Heather Jackson, Stephanie Malay, Brittany Bailey, Samantha Bailey, Jasmine Bailey, Hanna Jackson and Presley Ferguson.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Lee Goins officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Dan Jackson, Wayne Stegel, John Nester, Mark Teery, CJ Plumley, and Michael Makowsky will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until time of service on Saturday.
