Daphine Elvira McKinney

Daphine Elvira McKinney, age 89, of Midway, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 1, 2024. She was born on May 23, 1934 in Elgood, WV, the beloved daughter of the late Luther and Hazel Holdren Shumate.

In addition to her loving parents, Elvira was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Clyde McKinney; cherished daughter, Vanessa Blevins; and siblings: Sam, Pete, Okie, Tommy and Furley Shumate; as well as sisters Darcus Rose and Virginia Lilly.

She is survived by her baby, Karma, and her niece Vickie Justice of Midway.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bill Spencer. Following the service, Daphine will be laid to rest at the Elgood Cemetery. Those who wish to pay their respects may visit with the family starting at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Elvira will be remembered for her kindness, love for her family and friends, and her gentle spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her.
